I’m a Swiss artist currently based in Washington DC.I have a maker’s background, and I primarily work in clay. There is this fascination about the tactility of clay, the traces I can capture with the firing. Working in such a soft material to create a fragile, but at the same time solid piece that will endure generations.For me, clay is strongly connected to the human body. To work with this material is a balance between strength and very smooth, delicate movements.I work with simple, reduced shapes and forms. I abstract till I get to the essence. The reflection of my own humanity and the world I live in, the people I ‘m surrounded by, is my motivation and inspiration for my work.
